About the University of Greenwich

The University of Greenwich has a tradition in education, dating back over 125 years, together with active research programmes which focus on solving real-world problems. Our three historical campuses in Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway are home to a thriving student community of 22,000, including international students from over 176 countries.

We have state-of-the-art facilities including a new library, digital media studios, laboratories, new hall of residence and have upgraded our sports facilities at Avery Hill. New social facilities for students will open at our Greenwich and Medway Campuses this academic year.

We offer subjects ranging from accountancy to science and are proud of our excellent standards of teaching. We put student satisfaction at the heart of what we do and support each student’s individual needs.

We have an excellent research record, with much of our work judged to be world leading. We believe in making a difference to people’s lives and in finding solutions to local and global problems. We have boosted the incomes of rural farmers in Africa through our work on the tropical root crop cassava. We recently won our fourth Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education, a prestigious award given for outstanding research.
